NH ENERGY STAR is an Energy Star partner in New Hampshire. The program offers many incentives to help homeowners interested in building an efficient home or upgrading their existing homes for energy efficiency.
Using funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), The NH Office of Energy offered a successful program for the purchase and installation of highly efficient home heating systems and water heaters. The program closed in 2010.
The usual issues faced by New Hampshire homeowners include high energy bills, air leaks and rooms that are too hot or too cold.
New Hampshire’s Weatherization Program
Office of Energy and Planning (OEP) administers New Hampshire’s weatherization program. The New Hampshire weatherization Program helps residents of New Hampshire cut high utility bills and increase comfort and safety of their households. The program provides energy efficient upgrades to residents of New Hampshire that meet certain income criteria. Both owners and renters are eligible to participate. Preference is given to households with elderly residents, disabled persons and families with children. The most common weatherization services performed in New Hampshire are energy audit, insulation, weather-stripping and caulking and repairing or replacing the heating unit.
