Energy Star Partner in Minnesota

Minnesota Energy Resources is an Energy Star partner in Minnesota. Minnesota Energy Resources offers numerous rebates to help those interested in upgrading their homes for energy efficiency.  Some of the rebates include air sealing & insulation rebates, clothes washer rebates and heating system rebates as well as Home Energy Excellence Program for home buyers.

The common issues faced by Minnesota homeowners include high energy bills, drafty windows and doors and rooms that are too hot or too cold. A “whole-house philosophy”, promoted by the Energy Star program, is the chief approach to deal with these and similar problems.

Minnesota Weatherization Program

The program provides cost-effective energy efficient upgrades to residents of Minnesota that meet established income criteria (eligible customers must meet state and federal poverty guidelines).

The most common weatherization services funded by the Minnesota Energy Resources are energy audit, blower-door test, weather-stripping and caulking, replacing glass panes/windows, installing insulation, tune ups, repairing/replacing the heating unit.

Low Income Assistance Programs Minnesota

Other low income assistance programs in Minnesota include: The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) (helps homeowners pay their heating costs), the 4U2 Program (provides energy audit for qualified customers to identify weatherization opportunities) and Minnesota Energy Resources Gas Affordability Program.
